Rock 'N Roll is Here to Stay is a online course offered this summer from June 7-July 2.

The course will cover the history of rock music beginning in the 1950s looking at the originators of the genre like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, & Chuck Berry. The course will trace the highs and lows of rock music history through the 1970s and 80s.

Participants will also learn about everything from festivals to rock's biggest albums that have characterized what rock has meant to the music industry and its fans. The course will also review the most recent years, in particular the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on rock music and the music industry as a whole. The end of the course will conclude with discussions on whether or not the rock genre will survive beyond the 21st century.

This online course is in synchronous format and will meet Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6-8:40 p.m.
